interview

Interview
This interview was with a young man currently in education at Lanfranc secondary school

Q1. Do you download music illegally and if so why ?
A1. I do download music illegally because i cant afford to buy all the music i want to listen to and sometimes youtube dont have all the songs i want. music is something that helps you socialise in life so if im not up to date with the latest musici dont feel part of my friends conversation and its not a nice feeling.

Q2. do you download music illegally. why do you download ?
A2 everyone said yes. there reasons were its free, no jobs or source of income theres not enough encourgment from the law to stop. some people said they dont want to buy it because they are not sure if they will like the whole album. its fast and easy someone suggested that they would perhaps buy specific songs of an album rather than just being given the singles or the full album.

Q3.do you buy music?
A3. No not really. i dont buy my faviourte artists albums because i dont really think they need my support like that. They are rich enough the i think. i have bought a local musicians mix-tape recently because i like his musi and want to support him with funds because at this point his own money is going to create things like the cover and copies of his cd's

Q4. Do you only buy specific types of music ?
A4.yeah i would only buy if i had to rap music cause its my faviourte genre and underground rap/hip hop no pop or comercial stuff.

Q5.Do you think the authorities do enough to stop the growth in illegal
A5.i dont think they do anything at all actually ive never had trouble downloading stuff when ive needed to.

Q6.What websites do you use to download
A6.hot new hip hop is the main site i find everything i want there normally

Q7 Are you often fed links to downloading websites.
A7 i dont look out for them so if they are there i havent noticed

Q8 How often do you download illegally
A8. weekly

Q8 What will be the situation with illegal downloading in 10 years
A8 i think it will all be the same its something i think is to hard to control

I am happy with the feed back i got from this interview i feel that it does a good job of representing the opinions of most secondary school kids. i like the honesty i think this is a reliable source

Q8 What will be the situation with illegal downloading in 10 years
A8 half believed that it would have become alot more worse the other half felt it would be alot more harder to do.

the data i collected will help me in the development for my primary research. i believe my focus group was very effective the only place i felt it lacked effectivness was in the demographics of the group they were all of same gender and age. i feel this was however a very reliable way to find information because the target age for illegal downloading are the
